Ammar Chowk

Islamabad

Ammar Chowk, Rawalpindi is envisioned as a civic landscape that balances traffic efficiency with urban presence. The roundabout is structured as a planted island system, using layered groundcover, shrubs, and canopy trees to create clear sightlines while softening the scale of surrounding roadways. Curvilinear planting beds reinforce vehicular movement, while drought-tolerant species and resilient turf respond to local climate conditions. The design prioritizes visual continuity, seasonal variation, and low maintenance, transforming a high-movement junction into a composed green landmark that contributes to the city’s public realm rather than merely managing traffic.
